sUAS Safety and Operational Guidelines

OUTSIDE  INSIDE  
X   The sUAS may be flown up to a maximum altitude of 400 feet above ground level.
X X The sUAS must remain within the line of sight of the operator and/or visual observer.
X   The sUAS may be flown only during daylight hours (published sunrise to sunset).
X X The operator will maintain control of the sUAS at all times.  A maximum of one sUAS per operator at any time.
X X The operator will ground the sUAS immediately any time flight conditions do not meet safety standards.
X   The operator will remain clear of and not interfere with manned aircraft operations.
X X The operator will not conduct the flight if any physical or mental impairment would interfere with safe operation (e.g., while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, sleep deprived, etc.).
X X The operator will not fly over any person(s).
X X The operator will not fly over areas with mass assembly (e.g., sporting events, reunions, etc.).
X X The operator will not fly in a careless or reckless manner.
X X The operator will not fly over or conduct data-gathering operations where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy.
X X Operations will take place only in locations and at times approved by the request and will not fly in or over non-approved indoor or outdoor locations or during unapproved times.
X X The operator will not endanger the property of others. This includes artwork, smoke detectors and other materials or property indoors or outdoors.
X X The operator will not fly near emergency response efforts.
X X The operator (and the flight plan) will adhere to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as University policies.
X X The sUAS meets all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to sUAS.
X X The operator will not pursue/interact or in any way intentionally cause the sUAS to come in contact with local area wildlife (e.g., birds, squirrels, pets, etc.).
X X Operators will conduct post-flight inspections to identify damage/wear to the sUAS.
